An open mic night will be hosted by the Paradise Centennial Lions Club on Friday evening, Mar 1st. The event is in Resource Room A of the Paradise Double Ice Complex. Winter Activity Centre

The Winter Activity Centre in the North Bank Lodge at Pippy Park is open. For up-to-date schedules and hours of operation call the snow line at 709-737-3651. 

During the winter, the Pippy Park campground is transformed into an area suitable for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Trails are lit for evening use and there is no cost to use the trails.

Rental hours of operation
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Saturday: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Sunday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Equipment rental prices
Individual person: $5 per hour
Family of three people: $10 per hour
Family of four to six people: $15 per hour
Payment is accepted by debit/credit only as the Winter Activity Centre is transitioning to cashless payments.

Drop-in ski lessons available
Learn the basics of classic cross-country skiing in a group lesson at the Winter Activity Centre in Pippy Park.

Lessons are first come, first serve and weather dependent. Please call the snow line at 709-737-3651, for information regarding the status of the lesson.

Cozy in the Crypt

The Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist will once again host a special “Cozy in the Crypt” event for the entire community on Saturday March 2, 2024.

The Crypt will be open from 6-9pm for members of the congregation as well as those from the surrounding downtown community and beyond. Guests will enjoy delicious soup and rolls, cookies and hot and cold beverages. The Crypt will be a warm, and cozy refuge from winter, with music and fellowship all evening long.

The Anglican Cathedral is located at 16 Church Hill in St. John’s. The Crypt can be accessed via the parking lot on the south side of the building.

are offering free income tax services to senior citizens and low income residents of the 
St. John’s, Mount Pearl and surrounding areas. 
Senior citizens with total personal income of $35,000 or less and other individuals with income of 
$25,000 or less qualify for this free service. The program excludes all persons with self-employment 
or rental income or income from foreign sources.

Volunteers Needed

Our annual Call for Performers helps the City program arts and cultural performances for special events like the Music @ concert series, Downtown Pedestrian Mall performances, Dockside Welcomes and other City of St. John’s-hosted events and festivals.
