Centennial Hymn Festival—a joyful celebration of 100 years of music in the United Church of Canada, featuring a preview of new hymns from our upcoming resource, Then Let Us Sing. The festival will be held on Sunday, June 29th at 3:30 PM in the sanctuary of St. James United Church. Enjoy  anthems by the St. James Senior Choir and the Islington United Church Senior Choir from Toronto, conducted by Jason Locke. All are welcomed. A freewill offering will be received at the door.

Canada Day on George Street


Celebrate Canada Day with a Free Family Friendly Event Featuring School of Rock!

Get ready for an afternoon of music, laughter, and family fun this Canada Day, Tuesday, July 1st, on George Street! From 2:00 to 5:00 PM, the main stage will come alive with a performance from School of Rock, a group of talented young musicians who will take the stage with classic hits and big energy. 

This completely free, all-ages event is perfect for families looking to celebrate together. Kids can enjoy face painting, balloon animals, and other fun activities, all while the whole family soaks up the festive atmosphere and live music in the heart of downtown.

The Canadian Red Cross is in need of volunteers to support their Emergency Management Program, the Canadian Red Cross assist families that are displaced from their homes in the event of a fire or other disaster. 

All necessary training is provided.

Wheels for Wishes Car Show, taking place all day on Saturday, July 19th at Bristol Court on Kelsey Drive. This exciting community event will showcase a wide variety of classic, custom, and collector vehicles, with fun for the whole family.
The Wheels for Wishes Car Show is more than just a celebration of cars—it’s an opportunity to support a meaningful cause. Proceeds from the event will benefit Candlelighters NL, helping support children and families affected by childhood cancer.

On Sunday, July 20 from 12:00 pm-4:00 pm Goulds Lions Club and the Goulds Volunteer Fire Department are co-hosting the 6th annual Justin Blundon Memorial Carwash in the parking lot in front of St. Kevin's Junior High School on the Main Road in the Goulds. This year includes live music from Croc & Doyle Rock, bouncy castle, face painting, kids cornhole, BBQ, a dunk tank, firetrucks for children to tour, etc. All money raised will be donated by the Goulds Lions and Leo Clubs for local community projects
