White cane week is taking place this year on the week of Feb,9-15th. 

The E. A. Baker chapter of the Canadian Council of the blind are kicking it off this year again with fun events. 

CCB Dinner in the Dark:

 Boston Pizza has kindly offered to host this event again this year.

 The location where this event is being held is at the Boston Pizza Kelsey Drive location on Sunday February 9th   From 5-8 PM.

The main goal is to create public awareness and see what it is like to walk a mile in our shoes. We are welcoming the public to join our members to share a meal to   gain some awareness of living with sight loss.    

If you are up for the challenge, we would love for you to join us during the meal waring a blind fold to truly gain perspective and appreciation for a day in the life of blindness.

Members of the Association of Chartered Professional Accountants of Newfoundland and Labrador 
are once again offering free income tax services to senior citizens and low-income residents of the 
St. John’s, Mount Pearl and surrounding areas. 
Members have volunteered their time to be available for consultation and assistance in the 
completion of income tax returns at several public clinics located throughout St. John’s and Mount 
Pearl. 
Senior citizens with total personal income of $35,000 or less and other individuals with income of 
$25,000 or less qualify for this free service. The program excludes all persons with self-employment 
or rental income or income from foreign sources.

message and your call will be returned within 2 days.

Vision Board Workshop February 12th from 3 PM to 5 PM at the SSVP Carbonear Foodbank. This is a great opportunity to practice some self-care, socialize, and plan for the future! 

During the workshop, participants will have the chance to make their vision board. All materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring any personal items or images they'd like to include on their vision board.

If anyone has any old magazines or books they would like to donate to this event, they would greatly appreciate it! These will be used to help participants find images or words that resonate with them and their goals.
